Prescriptions

Ordering Medications

The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions is by

using the GP online system: Patient Services

This service lets you order all your medications hassle free

Please either email us on tay.ancrum@nhs.scot or call the surgery to sign up for this service.

Please note after a number of requests some of your medications will show as unavailable to order, if this happens scroll down to ‘I'd like to request an expired repeat prescription or another medication’ type your request in to the box, this will then be sent to the GP to review and reauthorise - they may reject the request and advise a medication review which our admin staff will book in to a routine appointment.

You can also:

  • Email your request to tay.ancrum@nhs.scot

  • Hand in a repeat prescription form to reception

  • Hand your repeat slip in to your preferred chemist - please note this option will take longer so please ensure you order in advance.

  • Post it to us with a stamped addressed envelope.

We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone, our admin staff are happy to help set you up to our patient services or you can use one of the other options above.

Please allow 48 hours from the date of the request when ordering your prescription.

Chemist Collection

You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it. Please check with your preferred pharmacy as they all differ from each other.

if you choose to collect from the chemist please ensure you set up a preferred chemist to collect from. If you wish to collect from the practice, let one of our staff members know when you are ordering and allow up to 48 hours before collecting.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • at your GP practice
  • you can phone the surgery
  • via patient services
  • via the pharmacy
